IELTS, The International English Language Testing System is the most popular standardised test of English proficiency for non-native speakers.

IELTS is increasingly widely recognised by universities and employers in English-speaking countries. It is also required for emigration to many English-speaking countries. This exam is conducted world- wide by British Council and IDP.

IELTS Test Format:

IELT Test is available in two formats 1. Academic and 2. General, You can choose to do the Academic English for Higher Education purpose for admissions, or the General English exam for Immigration. See for more information.

IELTS test consists of four sections:

Section 1. Listening – Testing Time - 30 Minutes – Score Scale Ranging from Band 1-Band 9

Section 2. Speaking - Testing Time is 11-15 Minutes – Score Scale Ranging from Band 1-Band 9

Section 3. Reading - Testing Time is 60 Minutes – Score Scale Ranging from Band 1-Band 9

Section 4. Writing. - Testing Time 60 Minutes – Score Scale Ranging from Band 1-Band 9

Listening and Speaking components are same in formats and are conducted in one day, or the

Listening, Reading and Writing components of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, without any breaks.

The Speaking Section can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests. (The Concern test Centre will advise the student about the test date)

The total Test Time is 2 Hours and 45 Minutes.
